At D.Waste, we’re committed to ensuring your experience is smooth and hassle-free. Whether you need help with app features, troubleshooting issues, or have questions about recycling and waste management, we’re here to assist you.
How Can We Help You?
- Open the Deep Waste app on your device.
- Tap the settings gear icon [⚙️]. Locate and click on [📍] Recycling Center(s).
- You will be redirected to a new Recycling Map page, where you can input the items you want to recycle along with your zip code.
- Tap the Search button to see a list of recycling centers near your specified zip code that accept the item.
- Open the Deep Waste app on your device.
- Tap the image icon [🖼️] located in the bottom-right corner. This will display two options: Camera [📷] and Folder [📂].

- If you choose the Camera [📷] option, take a picture of the waste. The image will be analyzed and identified by our AI engine.
- If you choose the Folder [📂] option, upload an image of the waste from your gallery for identification.
- Once identified, follow the provided instructions to manage the waste appropriately.
- Deep Waste currently identifies six types of waste: cardboard, paper, glass, metal, plastic, and trash. Each waste type is assigned a carbon footprint value, which determines the points you earn for managing it.
- After waste identification, follow the instructions provided to manage the waste. Please note that these instructions may vary depending on your location and local recycling regulations.
- Once you have completed the waste management process, tap "Add to Bin" to acknowledge the action and earn the corresponding points.
- The managed waste and earned points are stored locally for future reference and can be viewed in the Items section.
- Manage waste and earn points by following the steps described in the How to Earn Points section. The points are stored locally on your device.
- Navigate to the Settings page and tap on Leaderboard.
- Submit your score to the leaderboard. Each time you update your points, revisit the leaderboard to submit the new total.
- Open the Deep Waste app and go to the Settings page.
- Tap Delete Account. This action will automatically clear your records from the leaderboard and reset your score.
Technical Support: Troubleshooting
Issues Uploading Photos:
- Ensure your camera permissions are enabled in app settings.
- Use a well-lit environment and avoid obstructions in the image background.
App Not Loading Properly:
- Check your internet connection and ensure it is stable.
- Update the app to the latest version available on the App Store or Play Store.
- Clear the app cache from your device settings.
Incorrect Waste Type Identifications:
- Ensure the waste item is properly centered and clearly visible in the image.
- Try retaking the photo in a well-lit area to improve AI accuracy.
- Update the app to ensure you have the latest AI model version.
Leaderboard Scores Not Updating:
- Ensure you’ve added waste to the bin after identification.
- Check your internet connection before submitting scores.
- Restart the app and try submitting your score again.
Unable to Delete Account:
- Navigate to the settings page and locate the "Delete Account" option.
- Ensure you confirm the action when prompted.
- If the issue persists, contact our support team for assistance.
App Crashing Frequently:
- Restart your device and open the app again.
- Ensure there is enough storage space on your device.
- Uninstall and reinstall the app from the store.
